What Fairway is like
Does Fairway give back to the community?

Holly Mattson President of Recruiting, Fairway
Yes, structurally. Fairway founded the American Warrior Initiative in 2015 (450+ service dogs placed for veterans and first responders, with Fairway covering all expenses) and Fairway Cares in 2016 (15,000+ care packages with handwritten notes and 2,000+ financial grants). It also committed $1 million to disaster relief within days — twice — and funded Jake's Place in Madison.
“Loans are what we do, not who we are” is the line from Fairway Cares, and it is the most accurate summary of this answer.
American Warrior Initiative (founded 2015). Fairway’s nonprofit for veterans and first responders. More than 450 life-changing service dogs placed — the 400th was funded in April 2025 — plus business grants, home upgrades, and mortgage-free housing. Fairway underwrites all of AWI’s expenses, so every donated dollar goes to the mission. It also runs Certified Military Mortgage Specialist education for real estate professionals and the Red Fridays tradition. americanwarriorinitiative.com
Fairway Cares (founded 2016). Love, courage, strength, and hope for anyone in the Fairway circle facing critical illness, trauma, or the loss of a loved one. More than 15,000 care packages shipped — every one with a handwritten note — and more than 2,000 financial grants. Funded by Fairway employees, powered by volunteers. fairwaycares.org
Disaster relief, fast. When Texas flooded in July 2025, Fairway committed $1,000,000 within days and publicly challenged every other mortgage company doing business in Texas to match it. After Hurricane Helene in October 2024, Fairway put up $1,000,000 for Florida relief and paid hotels, dinners, and storage for clients whose closings were disrupted.
Jake’s Place (November 2025). Fairway’s funding enabled Tellurian Behavioral Health to purchase and renovate a Madison facility reopening a medically monitored detox program — named in honor of Steve Jacobson’s father, Darryll Jacobson.
Why this is on a recruiting site: because you are not joining a logo, you are joining the people who decided to do all of that.
