Will AI replace loan officers at Fairway?

No. Fairway's position is explicit: AI is built to augment the originator, never to replace one. Navigator, the company's AI layer, handles the hours — documents, reporting, follow-up, intelligence — so you spend yours on relationships and closings. Loan officers with AI will replace loan officers without it; that is the whole bet.

Every originator is quietly asking this, and most companies answer it with a shrug. Fairway answers it on purpose.

The stated position. AI won’t replace loan officers — loan officers with AI will replace loan officers without it. That is in the company’s own language, and the AI layer was built to that spec.

What that looks like in practice. Navigator takes the work that was never really your job: reading documents, building reports, drafting content, keeping a database warm, running intelligence on your market. What is left is the part only you can do — the conversation with the borrower and the agent.

The formula we use. Your expertise + AI leverage = more closings, same you. Nothing about you is being replaced; your hours are being multiplied.

Why Fairway can say this credibly. The company is employee-owned. The people deciding how AI is deployed are the same people whose livelihoods depend on originators succeeding. That is a very different incentive than a platform optimizing to cut headcount.
